Tukuringra

a mountain range in the northern part of Amur Oblast, RSFSR, in the system of the Iankan-Tukuringra-Tokta-khan-Dzhagdy mountain chain, which separates the Verkhniaia Zeia Plain from the Amur-Zeia Plateau. The range is 230 km long and 40–70 km wide. Prevailing elevations are 800–1,200 m, with a maximum of 1,605 m.

The Tukuringra Range is composed primarily of metamorphic schists and sandstones; it is a seismic region. The range has deposits of gold, cinnabar, and iron and other ores. The watersheds are flat. Larch forests and groves of white birch grow on the slopes at elevations of 1,000–1,200 m, with a predominance of spruce groves near the timberline. In the southern foothills are forests of red birch with Mongolian oak and specimens of Man-churian flora, including linden and magnolia vine (the range forms the northern boundary of their distribution); thickets of dwarf stone pine and dwarf birch, kurums, and bald mountains with growths of crowberry are found at higher elevations. The Zeia National Forest is located in the eastern part of the range. The Zeia Hydroelectric Power Plant has been built in the gorge of the Zeia River (at Zeiskie Vorota), at the junction of the Tukuringra Range and the Toktakhan Range. The western extremity of the Tukuringra Range is crossed by the Amur-Yakutsk highway and the Bam-Tynda Railroad, a branch connecting the Trans-Siberian Railroad with the Baikal-Amur Main Line.
