Silva Method

Silva Method

A method of hypnosis and mind control developed in the 1970s by an electronics engineer, Jose Silva. According to Silva, mind control is a kind of dynamic meditation, which is optimised by having the patient think in alpha-pattern brain wavelengths. The alpha pattern occurs at 10 cycles per second, and is typical of daydreaming; this contrasts to the deeper 4- to 7-Hz cycle/second theta pattern, which is sought in yoga and transcendental meditation. Some workers believe that Silva mind control may be dangerous to the emotionally unstable.
