[ri′vər·səl ‚spēd] (aerospace engineering) The speed of an aircraft above which the aeroelastic loads will exceed the control surface loading of a given flight control system; the resultant load will act in the reverse direction from the control surface loading, causing the control system to act in a direction opposite to that desired.
