Uiuk Range

a mountain range in the Tuva ASSR. The range extends approximately 120 km and rises to a maximum elevation of 2,311 m at Mount Bura. It is composed of schists, sandstones, conglomerates, and exfusives. The watersheds are smoothed, and the slopes are separated by deep valleys. The forest-steppe landforms of the foothills alternate along the northern slopes with larch forests, which turn to cedar-larch taiga at higher elevations. Steppe vegetation predominates on most of the southern slope.
