(The Planned Economy), the monthly journal of the State Planning Committee (Gosplan of the USSR), published in Moscow since 1924. Until March 1924 it was called Biulleten’ Gosplana (Gosplan Bulletin).

Planovoe khoziaistvo carries articles on problems in improving the organization and methodology of planning and administration, increasing the efficiency of social production, and improving intersector and territorial planning. In addition, it publishes articles on the use of scientific forecasts, the elaboration of the long-term plan for the development of the national economy, the application of mathematical economic methods and computer technology in planning, and similar subjects. The journal publishes materials that contribute to the economic education of the working people and articles that criticize contemporary bourgeois economic theories. Circulation, 52,000 (1973). In 1974 the journal was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
