Scheimpflug photography Scheimpflug photography An imaging technique that provides an assessment of the anterior segment of the eye in a sagittal plane. The principle of the technique is that the film plane, lens plane and subject plane (plane of focus) are tilted in such a way that all three planes intersect along a straight line. In this condition a subject will be completely in focus. The technique can be used to detect and monitor opacities in the media of the anterior segment (e.g. in the lens), to document these changes and to carry out biometric evaluation (e.g. depth of the anterior chamber, lens thickness measurement) (Fig. S1).
