Store Belt

the central straits linking the Baltic Sea with the Kattegat, between the islands of Lolland and Sjaelland on the east and Langeland and Fyn on the west. Length about 120 km; narrowest point 11 km; depth to 58 m. It freezes over during severe winters. There are boat trains from Nyborg (Fyn) to Korsør (Sjaelland).
