put (one's) two cents in

To share one's opinion or point of view, generally when it has not been asked for. I find Jeff a bit trying at times. He always insists on putting his two cents in no matter what the topic is, and no matter how much, or how little, he knows about it! If I can just put my two cents in, I think the staff would really appreciate a bump in their pay.See also: cent, put, two
