Spanish Colonial Revival style Spanish Colonial Revival style (1915–1940)A unique feature of this revival style is the ornate low-relief carvings highlighting arches, columns, window surrounds, cornices, and parapets. Red-tiled hipped roofs and arcaded porches are typical. Exterior walls are left exposed or finished in plaster or stucco. Iron window grilles and balconies are prevalent. A molded or arcaded cornice highlights the eaves, and large buildings have ornamental parapets and a symbolic bell tower. |
