Established: Authorized on July 4, 1976.
Location:18 miles west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, near the Schyulkill Expressway (76 East) and the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Routes 276 East and 76 West).
Facilities:Picnic area, rest rooms (é), restaurant/snacks, bicycle trail, boat ramp, visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail. Entrance fee required.
Activities:Hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, boating, fishing, auto touring, self-guided tours, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Site of the Continental Army's winter encampment, 1777-1778, the park contains General Washington's headquarters, original earthworks, a variety of monuments and markers, reconstructed log buildings, and a replica cannon.
