Spahn, Warren (Edward)

(1921– ) baseball pitcher; born in Buffalo, N.Y. During his 21-year career (1942–65), primarily with the Boston and Milwaukee Braves, he won 363 games, more than any left-hander in major league history. Thirteen times he won 20 or more games in a season, and in 1973 he was elected to baseball's Hall of Fame.
