a gentle rounded or oval (often with diffuse outlines) uplift of layers of the sedimentary mantle of continental platforms. The term was introduced by N. S. Shatskii in 1945 to refer to uplifts in the Volga-Ural Oil-Gas Region of the Eastern European Platform.
