(ă-trak'tin), [MIM*603130] A glycoprotein of T-cell origin involved in T-cell clustering and monocyte movement.

attractin

A protein encoded by ATRN on chromosome 20p13 and secreted by activated T lymphocytes that is involved in early immune cell clustering during inflammation and plays a critical role in normal CNS myelination. Attractin may regulate cytokines’ chemotactic activity and play a role in melanocortin signalling pathways that regulate basal homeostasis and hair colour.
