Advertising frequency can be extended by increasing over a specific time period the number of times the advertisement appears in the firm's existing choice of media, or by placing the advertisement in a wider range of media. A high advertising frequency is often required to launch a NEW PRODUCT onto the market and is also important in supporting existing BRANDS over time, encouraging repeat purchasing and maintaining BRAND LOYALTY.
