Trans-Kamen Route

(Russian, Cherezkamennyi Put’; also Pechora Route), a route to Siberia used in the 16th and 17th centuries. The Trans-Kamen’ Route passed through the Northern Urals, which at that time were known as the Kamen’. The route led from the Pechora River along a tributary called the Usa. After journeying a short distance overland to reach the Sob’ River, travelers proceeded along the Sob’ to the Ob’ Valley and the city of Berezov.
