Pithos
Pithos a large clay vessel used during the Minoan-Myce-naean period for storing grain and similar products. Pithoi were ovate and measured 1.5 to 2 m high. Aegean pithoi were adorned with frieze-like relief, whereas Greek pithoi were plain. The vessels usually were buried in the ground and topped with a stone or clay cover. |
