Academy of Comparative Jurisprudence
Academy of Comparative Jurisprudence
an international research organization engaged in the study of law using the comparative-legal method. Established inGeneva in 1924, it is now housed in The Hague. Scholars of more than 20 countries (including the USSR, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia) make up the membership of the academy. International congresses on comparative jurisprudence are convened by the academy once every four years (the seventh congress was held in August 1966 in Uppsala, Sweden). The Academy of Comparative Jurisprudence publishes its own reports and works. The first series was Sources of Law; the second was The Organization of International Congresses on Comparative Jurisprudence.
