Responsible Officer
Medspeak-UKA senior doctor in a healthcare organisation, such as the medical director who has local responsibility for overseeing the conduct, monitoring the performance, and evaluating the fitness to practise of doctors linked to that organisation. Every licensed doctor is to be linked with a named Responsible Officer; one of the Responsible Officer's key roles will be to recommend to the GMC whether or not a doctor should be revalidated.
