Vibration Driver

 

a vibration machine for driving piles, sheet piling, pipes, and similar elements into the earth. The primary operating member of a vibration driver is a vibration exciter that is rigidly joined by means of a driving cap with the element being driven so as to transmit vibration to the latter (usually longitudinal-vertical vibration). The directed vibrations of the exciter housing are produced by rotating unbalanced weights in the vertical plane. A distinction is made between the transmission type of vibration drivers, which have a transmission between the motor and the unbalanced shafts, and the nontransmission type, on which the unbalanced weights are installed directly on the motor shafts. Vibration drivers are most widely used in hydraulic engineering construction to drive metal sheet piling into sandy, water-saturated soils.
