Siah Koh

Siah Koh

 

(also Siah Kuh), a mountain range in Afghanistan, in the southern Paropamisus Mountains. The Siah Koh Mountains extend for approximately 200 km, with elevations to 3,314 m. They are composed primarily of schists and sandstones. The range consists of several parallel chains, characterized by a high degree of peneplanation. There are mountain semideserts and deserts. The name “Siah Koh” is often used for the entire mountain system lying south of the Harirud.
