a device for stoking fuel in grate-fired furnaces and for distribution of fuel over the whole area of a furnace grate. Fuel stokers are classified as mechanical stokers, which carry fuel into the furnace by means of a bladed turning rotor; pneumatic stokers, which convey the fuel with the aid of an air jet or steam jet; and pneumatic-mechanical stokers, which combine both principles. Pneumatic-mechanical stokers ensure a more uniform distribution of fuel along the grating.
