Pipidea

[pə′pid·ē·ə] (vertebrate zoology) A family of frogs sometimes included in the suborder Opisthocoela, but more commonly placed in its own suborder, Aglossa; a definitive tongue is lacking, and free ribs are present in the tadpole but they fuse to the vertebrae in the adult.
