Sovetskie Profsoiuzy
(Soviet Trade Unions), a sociopolitical journal of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions. The journal was first published in 1917 under the name Professional’nyi vestnik (Professional Journal) and assumed its present name in 1953. It deals with the varied activities of the trade unions of the USSR, the unions’ central and local bodies and primary organizations, and major events abroad. It publishes articles on the work conducted by trade unions in production, education, and mass organization and the unions’ activities with respect to labor protection, social insurance, wages, and the planning of the working people’s everyday life and leisure. Sovetskie profsoiuzy propagandizes the labor legislation of the USSR. It comes out twice a month. Circulation, 710,000 (1975).
