Unicameral System

in state law, the structure of a legislative body composed of one chamber. The unicameral system is found as a rule in unitary states. For instance, in the USSR the Supreme Soviets of the Union and of autonomous republics are unicameral bodies. (See alsoBICAMERAL SYSTEM.)
