P0308550 (pĭn′ə-to͞o′bō), Mount A volcano, 1,485 m (4,872 ft) high, of the Philippines, in the west-central part of Luzon Island northwest of Manila. It erupted catastrophically in June 1991 after 500 years of dormancy, killing hundreds of people and burying hundreds of square miles under volcanic ash.
