Verkhnii Zgid

an urban-type settlement in Alagir Raion, Severnaia Ossetiia ASSR. Located on the northern slopes of the Greater Caucasus, 56 km southwest of the Alagir railroad station. Population, 3,000 (1970). Lead-zinc ores are mined here.
