an urban-type settlement in Alapaevsk Raion, Sverdlovsk Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the Siniachikha River (Ob’ basin), 5 km from the Siniachikha railroad station (on the Serov-Alapaevsk line) and 16 km north of Alapaevsk. Population, 9,100 (1969).

The settlement arose in connection with a metallurgical factory that was founded in the second half of the 18th century. There is iron and steel smelting. There is also a timber-chemistry combine. As of 1970 a plywood-processing combine was under construction.
