STK4 STK4 A gene on chromosome 20q11.2-q13.2 that encodes a ubiquitously expressed, stress-activated, pro-apoptotic kinase which, following caspase-cleavage, enters the nucleus and induces chromatin condensation followed by internucleosomal DNA fragmentation. STK4 and STK3 are key components of the Hippo signalling pathway, which controls organ size and suppresses tumours by restricting proliferation and promoting apoptosis. |
