STK3 STK3 A gene on chromosome 8q22.2 that encodes a stress-activated, pro-apoptotic kinase which, following caspase cleavage, enters the nucleus and induces chromatin condensation followed by internucleosomal DNA fragmentation. STK3 and STK4 are key components of the Hippo signalling pathway, which controls organ size and suppresses tumours by restricting proliferation and promoting apoptosis.
