Southern Khangai Plateau

the southern part of the Khangai upland region in the Mongolian People’s Republic. The maximum elevation occurs at Bogdo Ula (3,012 m). The plateau is bounded on the north by the steep southern slopes of the axial ridge of the Khangai and on the south by an escarpment that falls toward the Valley of Lakes. The Southern Khangai Plateau has dry steppes that are used for grazing.
