Pilva
Pil’va
a river in Perm’ Oblast, RSFSR, originating in the Komi ASSR; a left tributary of the Kama. It measures 214 km long and drains an area of 2,020 sq km. Formed by the confluence of the Severnaia and Iuzhnaia Pil’va rivers, it flows through forested terrain. The mean flow rate is about 20 cu m per sec. The river freezes in the first half of October, and the ice breaks up in the second half of April. Timber is floated on the Pil’va.
