Shrew Moles

 

(Urotrichus), a genus of insectivores of the family Talpidae. The body is 6 to 10 cm long and the tail 2 to 4 cm long. The für is dark brown or black. There are two species, found on the southern islands of Japan. They are forest animals, similar to shrews in their way of life. The representatives of the genera Neurotrichus (America) and Uropsilus (Southern China) are also called shrew moles.
