Piggott, Lester Keith,

1935–, British jockey. A major figure in British horse racing after 1954, Piggott rode over 4,000 winners in Britain. He gained particular success in classic British races such as the DerbyDerby
, English horse race, instituted (1780) by the 12th earl of Derby and held annually at Epsom Downs, near London. The race is open only to three-year-old colts and fillies that must be entered when yearlings.
