Pu Kombo

 

Died December 1867. The leader of a peasant uprising in Cambodia against the French colonialists and feudal oppression.

The uprising became especially widespread in 1866–67. On assuming its leadership, Pu Kombo claimed to be the grandson of King Ang Chan. The rebels, led by Pu Kombo, occupied several provinces. The main rebel forces were routed in 1866 by French troops and royal detachments, and Pu Kombo was captured and executed.
