piezotropy

piezotropy

[‚pē·ə′zä·trə·pē] (fluid mechanics) The property of a fluid in which processes are characterized by a functional dependence of the thermodynamic functions of state: d ρ/ dt = b (dp / dt), where ρ is the density, p the pressure, and b a function of the thermodynamic variables, called the coefficient of piezotropy.
