S02-835600 (so″sĕr-ĭ-zā′shŏn) The surgical creation of a shallow area in tissue to remove devitalized tissue and to facilitate drainage. It is used, for example, in biopsies of the skin to remove lesions that extend below the epidermis. saucerize (so′sĕr-īz″)
