Pudozh

a city and administrative center of Pudozh Raion, Karelian ASSR. Pudozh is located on the Vodla River, which empties into Lake Onega, 190 km from the Medvezh’ia Gora railroad station on the Petrozavodsk-Belomorsk line. It has enterprises of the lumber industry and a branch of the Petrozavodsk machine-repair plant. Known since the 14th century, Pudozh became a city in 1785.
