Sattar Khan
Born 1867 (1868) in Qaradagh; died Nov. 17, 1914, in Tehran. Participant in the Iranian Revolution of 1905–11. Iranian national hero.
Sattar Khan was of petit bourgeois background. He took part in guerrilla activities against the shah and was repeatedly subjected to persecution. In 1908 and 1909 he led an armed popular uprising in Tabriz, proving himself to be an effective leader and military organizer. He was very popular with the people.
