State: WashingtonWe had a vehicle repossessed and sold at auction. There is a balance of $11,000 left on the loan, however it has been 6+ months and we have never been contacted to pay the balance. We are refinancing our home and were thinking of taking cash out to pay off this debt but the Mortgage Company said that the bank couldn't come after us for the balance if they sold it for less at auction. This doesn't sound correct to me so I wanted to get the advice of an attorney. Do you know the answer to this?

They can still sue you in some cases but very often they simply do not do so-
