Valagin
a mountain range in the central part of the Vostochnyi Range system of the Kamchatka Peninsula. Length, 150 km; maximum altitude, 1,794 m (Mount Kudriash). The Valagin Range is composed of crystalline shales, granites, and volcanic lavas. The range’s steep slopes are covered with forests of Kamchatka birch, and higher up, by brushwood thickets and tall-grass meadows.
