One of the most prolific and influential artists of the 1900s, Picasso excelled in painting, sculpture, etching, stage design, and ceramics. With Georges Braque he launched cubism (1906-1925), and he introduced the technique of collage. Among Picasso's works are Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907) and Guernica (1937).
