Physics, Landscape
the division of landscape science that deals with physical processes occurring in various geographic landscapes. The primary aim of landscape physics is the study of biological productivity for a specific climate, topography, and soil cover. Such study necessitates the investigation of the energy cycle of a landscape as a whole, the radiation balance and heat balance of the active layer of a landscape, soil formation processes, and the structure and trophic links of biocenoses. The investigation of soil formation processes also lies within the purview of landscape geochemistry.
