(Sociological Studies), a scholarly journal published by the Institute for Sociological Research of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Founded in 1974, it is published in Moscow four times a year. It deals with theoretical problems of sociology and the results of sociological research. Sections of the journal are devoted to sociological theory and practice, social planning, sociological aspects of various ways of life, criticism of contemporary bourgeois sociology, the history of sociological thought, and bibliography.
