Tsentrnauchfil’m

 

(full name, Central Studio of Popular Science and Educational Films), a Soviet motion-picture studio located in Moscow. The studio, founded in 1933, was called the Moscow Studio of Technical Films (Mostekhfil’m) until 1941, the Studio of Technical Military Films (Voentekhfil’m) from 1941 to 1944, and the Moscow Studio of Science Films (Mosnauchfil’m) from 1944 to 1966, when it assumed its present name.

Tsentrnauchfil’m releases more than 300 films a year, including the news serials Science and Technology, Agriculture News, and Health, the children’s news serial I Want to Know Everything, and Almanac of Cinema Travels.

The studio was awarded the Order of the Red Star in 1945.
