Svetozar Ilesic

Ilešič, Svetozar

Born June 8, 1907, in Ljubljana. Yugoslav geographer; member of the Slovene Academy of Sciences and Arts since 1967. Professor at the University of Ljubljana since 1946. Elected President of the Yugoslav National Geographic Committee in 1969.

Ilešič principal works have dealt with regional and agrarian geography and geographic districting (zoning) in Slovenia and Yugoslavia as a whole. He has also worked on the economic and political geography of the countries of the world.
