Suzdal Chronicle

(also known as the Moscow Academy Chronicle), the conventional name for an all-Russian compilation of chronicles from the late 15th century.

The Suzdal’ Chronicle was evidently compiled in Rostov Velikii. It begins with the Primary Chronicle and carries the account to 1418. In its account of the years before 1206, the Suzdal’ Chronicle is similar to the illustrated Radziwiłł Chronicle. In the section for 1205–38, the text of the Suzdal’ Chronicle coincides with that of the Sofiia I Chronicle. The last part of the chronicle—the text for 1238–1418—represents the Rostov collection.

The Suzdal’ Chronicle provides valuable information on the history of the Rostov Principality and neighboring principalities from the second half of the 13th to the early 15th century.
