S0072100 (săn jə-sĭn′tō) A river, about 190 km (120 mi) long, of southeast Texas flowing into Galveston Bay. The final battle of the Texas Revolution, in which insurgents under Sam Houston defeated the Mexican forces led by Santa Anna, was fought on its banks on April 21, 1836.
