PSIP

(Program and System Information Protocol) The ATSC standard for sending program guides, content ratings and short station names to digital TV sets. The PSIP virtual channel is multiplexed with all the broadcast MPEG channels (the TV station content) to the transmission system for delivery to viewers (antenna or cable company).
