Psilocybe

(sī'lō-sī'bē), A genus of mushrooms (family Agaricaceae) containing many species with psychotropic or hallucinogenic properties, including Psilocybe mexicana, of which the fruiting bodies are a source of the hallucinogen, psilocybin.
