Tiung
Tiung
a river in the Yakut ASSR, a left tributary of the Viliui, in the Lena River basin. The Tiung is 1,092 km long and drains an area of 49,800 sq km. Its source is in the Central Siberian Plateau; meandering in places, the river flows through the Central Yakut Plain. The Tiung is fed by snow and rain, and it has a mean flow rate of 180 cu m per sec. It freezes in October and thaws between mid-May and early June. Its main left tributaries are the Chimidikian and the Dzhippa.
